    Why this location

Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex — and why it works

Built for the way DFW actually flies

Dallas and Fort Worth pilots usually have two choices: an expensive club at a Class B-adjacent airport, or a tired rental school where availability is a coin flip. A4 Aviation is a third option — a modern, members-only fleet at a tower-controlled airport just north of the traffic.

    One base. Real access.

Every aircraft lives at KDTO. No driving between airports to find a working plane. You book the airplane on Flight Circle, walk to the hangar at Sheltair, and go fly.

    Pricing you can plan around

$50/month in dues. $135–$150/hr wet. No equity buy-in. No surprise assessments. Burn around 5 GPH instead of 9, and your real cost per hour drops well below most legacy 172 rentals in the Metroplex.

Members from Frisco to Fort Worth

Our roster includes pilots from Plano, Frisco, The Colony, Flower Mound, Argyle, Roanoke, Keller, north Dallas, and northern Fort Worth. KDTO is genuinely central for the upper Metroplex.

    Who this is for

A good fit if you are…

    • A DFW-area pilot who's tired of being on the bottom of someone else's schedule
    • A new student in Collin, Denton, or Tarrant County starting from zero
    • A current pilot who wants modern glass-panel LSA at a sustainable hourly rate
    • An owner who's burned out on maintenance and ready to fly without owning

    Frequently asked

    Questions about Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex

Why is the club based at Denton instead of Addison or Dallas Executive?

Denton (KDTO) gives us tower control, two runways, hangar availability, and a clean ramp at Sheltair — without the congestion or cost structure of the Class B-adjacent airports. For most DFW pilots, the slightly longer drive is more than offset by faster wheels-up times.

How far is KDTO from Dallas or Fort Worth?

About 35–45 minutes from most parts of north Dallas and northern Fort Worth, 25 minutes from Frisco, and 10 minutes from downtown Denton. Most members report that getting in the airplane is faster from KDTO than from a closer-but-busier field.

Are you planning to expand to other DFW airports?

Yes, the long-term plan includes additional North Texas bases. KDTO is the current home and where our fleet lives today.

Can I bring my own CFI to fly the club aircraft?

Training in our fleet is delivered by A4-approved independent CFIs. We can introduce you to active instructors, and outside CFIs can be added to the approved list after a standard checkout.
